TCX is a program created by Influence Ecology co-founder John Patterson in collaboration with the co-founders of Consequential Agile. It is specifically designed to deal with the breakdown faced in organizations as managers seek to understand their new role as Lean Agile Leaders.
This breakdown for managers is particularly problematic because agile practices dictate that all work for teams is mediated through the team and program backlogs and prior to adopting agile practices managers had the freedom to direct the work that their teams did or did not do - especially in response to firefighting exercises.
TCX helps address this breakdown by providing functional managers with the tools needed to produce the kind of environment that has teams thrive. It provides a framework for functional managers to come together around a common aim of working on the business - rather than working in the business.
